ATOM and Buhay OFW TV combine efforts for OFWs

BRINGING hope and help for our modern-day heroes.
Buhay OFW TV host and founder, Marissa del Mar  held a press conference last July 18 at Golden Bay Restaurant, Macapagal Blvd. As she celebrates 7th year on television it will be more meaningful by an oath taking of the Anti-Trafficking OFW Movement(ATOM) on October 23, 2017, Monday at Diamond Hotel.

Proving more than a public service TV Show, Buhay OFW that airs every Saturday at 930 pm at Aksiyon TV also in Aksiyon International takes a  big decision to responds on a widely misunderstood  case of human-trafficking in Filipinos around the world.
Main goal of the  movement is to end up the modern slavery system in the lives of our modern heroes. And to serve as  an eye-opener to each of us that Filipino is not for sale.
In 2016, Philippine Government reach ranking no. 1 in terms of having the highest compliance level with regards to Trafficking Victims Poverty Act(TVPA).
Trafficker and officials that are involve in commiting crimes  had been charged and  some are convicted, still there's a widespread outcry  especially on social media for the victims of human trafficking.      Organizations like ATOM, assure the public in complying to the national and international laws for Filipinos more as well the OFWs  to be more educated about their rights so that they can protect their own.
With the widespread influence of social media, online communication brings trafficking closer to every filipino families home.  Usually because of poverty many of us grab opportunities to work abroad. They consider incredible offers to work in other country after they saw it on different pages of agencies and job -hunting sites with out knowing the risk.
This is a form of modern slavery different from what we think that human trafficking is operated by  gangsters. In this case, there's an existing legal permit amd travel documents but still its not an excemption to anyone for becoming a victim of trafficking. Force labor, prostitution and abuse are the forms of human trafficking.
