Celebrating it's 14th Bantayog Festival and 94th of Camarines Norte's Founding Anniversary.
The Bantayog Festival of Camarines Norte considered as one of the prestigious festival in Bicol Region. And also Bantayog Festival praised as a colorful and exceptional month-long celebration.
Lots of tourist, talented and creative people and media/blogger joined this year .
I feel really honored to witness the grandest Parade and Street Dancing Competition participated by various municipality of Camarines Norte.
7 Contingent featured their different history, local culture and main products.
Each of the contestant showcase their versatility and passion as they perform on streets and at the sport center.
Just a short trivia, the festival named after Rizal's Bantayog. It is the first monument built in honor of our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal in 1898. And also paying tribute to heroic act and nobility of their own people.
Here's the 7 Municipality who joined the Bantayog Fest 2018 Street Dance Competition:
NO.1- BOYUBOY FESTIVAL of San Lorenzo, Camarines Norte.
San Lorenzo is the first group who performed. It is known as the home of "Queen Pineapple". For additional knowledge, Boyuboy is about hard-working locals and their harvesting activity.
NO. 2- PINYASAN FESTIVAL of Daet , Camarines Norte.
One of the colorful and lively festival. It focused on their primary Agri-Cultural product the Queen Formosa. That is known as the sweetest pineapple in Carmarines Norte.
NO. 3- RAHUGAN FESTIVAL of Basud,Camarines Norte.
Rahugan means abundance of Coconut. Basud is rich in supply of Palay (rice grains) and Buko (coconut).
NO. 4 - MANANAP FESTIVAL of San Vicente, Camarines Norte
San Vicente is rich in cultural heritage and natural wonders.
One of the main attraction here in San Vicente is the spectacular beauty of Mananap Falls.
NO. 5 - PALONG FESTIVAL of Capalonga, Camarines Norte
Palong is shortened word for "Palong ng Manok". The golden rooster signifies abundance and good luck.
The festival in Capalonga displays history and belief of their locals. Palong festival celebrates in coincidence with the Feast of The Black Nazarene every May 13.
NO. 6 - PADAYOG FESTIVAL of Sta. Elena, Camaries Norte
Padayog Festival is the most enthusiastic and colorful celebration. Contingent of Sta. Elena demonstrates the characteristic of their people which is loving, hard working and joyous.
This festival also showcase the gratitude of the people for having abundance supply of rice, niyog and fish.
NO. 7 - PABIRIK FESTIVAL of Paracale, Camarines Norte
Municipality of Paracale showcases their tradition, history and strong faith.
Most of the street dancers are kids and justify their strong points for being energetic and their colorful costumes.
Paracale is well-known for mining industry (gold deposits) , fishing and farming as means of living. Pabirik is the main tool used in mining. The people of Paracale was admired for being industrious and religious.
